Dear Fam:

Sorry I didn't say too much about my birthday, it was a good day. I read a verse in the bible that talks about fasting and how there’s a group of people who say how hungry they are and how awesome they are and to look at them because of their righteousness, but the people seeing them and how "awesome" they are, well that's their reward. There is another type of person that anoints his head and washes his face, showing that all is well to the world and not getting gain of the world, but of the Lord. I have been trying to apply that to everything, not to talk about things or to get people to see me. But my bday was fun or as fun as it gets on the mission and having a comp that was trunky and disobedient (funny story about that), it was good. Thanks for the packages i did get them. No worries i won't be burning a shirt. I was going to ask to get a new shirt because i wanted one more short sleave. so thanks for that. i belive i am good on clothing except my shoes. i don’t know what to do about those suckers. on the inside where my achilles tendon, the very back part of your foot, my shoes its falling apart and rubbing my foot a little more than i would like. any ideas or suggestions? its just on one pair. and than on that same pair my sole in one part has rubbed all the way through the rubber part and I'm walking on the foam now. any ideas or suggestions on that one? I want to use these as much as I can. They're compfy and i just don’t want to get more haha.

I think I already talked about the temple. If I didn’t ask me again next week and I'll tell you

In the training meeting before we got our trainees, president stressed how we have to be exactly obedient and he said one of you has had a disobedient comp who sleeps in a lot. I looked up from taking notes. Do you know why he doesn’t go to bed on time? wake up on time? sleeps too much? doesn't study? That’s because of his trainer. Now all that sin is on his trainers head. Don't have that on your head. Pres was looking at me the whole time. I knew what he was talking about but no one else did. My sons name is Elder Jordan Mower from Californa. He's the oldest of five (all my comps have been the oldest. there must be something i need to learn and i cant quite figure it out) He is a little homesick, but he is doing fine. He is really stiff which reminds me of me when i was trained. Stiff, hard to open up with out prying, but all will be well. At the very all the trainers and the trainees were all in a circle, 40 missionarys total, 2nd largest in the mission thats come in and gone out at the same time. Pres started to talk about Elder Mower, who he was and all that.  The spirit hit me so strong and I knew he would be my new comp. It was so intense. One thing I am working on with Elder M is to recognize how the spirit works and what it feels like as a missionary. It feels a lot different. The kid's a beast though total beast, little rough on the edges but he is going to be great. I got some more pictures for you.

Got some news about Elder Orton. He's changed his missionary ways and is now a district leader. :)

A reason why the pictures my not be working so well is the size. They are so much bigger than with my other little guy.

Presidents last fireside last night was intense with the spirit. It's sad to see him go, but all will be well with President Clemets. There may be a pop up meeting and stuff since he gets here in a few days, just a note on that. On the ride home Elder Mower asked if I felt like he did on thinking that President and Sister Howell are our parents, I said yes, in a sense. There is no way that they could take the place of my parents, but for two years they basically are your parents, they help us and love us just as parents do.

Well gotta run.

love,
Elder Baker
