fam, That’s That's a really difficult question to answer. (I asked him what was one thing that he’s learned this far on his mission.) There are countless lessons and also knowledge building experiences that I have had in the last 11 months. I defiantly agree (with Zeb), prayer, but also, listening. The lesson I have learned the most is studying the scriptures. When I read the scriptures I like to write down scriptures and then later come back to it and to really dig deep into it and figure out the simplest definition and meaning of the scripture. Making things simple and understandable though study and receiving personal revelation for me, our companionship and those we are teaching. Learning and growing in the gospel and really being a part of it. There’s so much changing and so much going on :)
Tell Kelly (Meisch) I say hi. I am glad I am not totally forgotten back home ha-ha. (I still get quite a few letters so no worries) Yes on the mosquitoes. You just take it and make sure you’re moving around all the time and it’s all good.
The top fun was setting a date (a baptismal date!) with Dylan and really seeing that turn the ward and also change his little part of the family. Tomorrow we are going to figure out the program and get everything situated on the time and all that. He will be getting dunked on the 30th of this month.

One funny experience we had was on Wednesday, we got a call at about 1 or 2 in the afternoon from a family that just moved into our ward, the Spicer fam. They wanted to move at 3. We were on exchange blitz (spilt up companion ships into teams, luckily we were in our area) we were working with the zone leaders and so we had plenty of man power. However, the move was from the top of the apartment building down one floor, using an elevator . . . it is such a pain . . . but trying to figure out how to use all the space in that tiny space is fun :0 it was some good times in there.
We didn’t finish the book of Mormon. We stopped reading it Saturday. We only got to the last few chapters in Mosiah... I don’t really understand why we stopped, but that’s what Elder Mower felt, so we stopped...
We got 14 lessons in this week, mostly with less actives. With Dylan being baptized soon and a few of our investigators dropping us, the work is going really slow for investigator work. We had a fast a few days ago to get more investigators. That prayer hasn’t been answered yet but hopefully soon we will get that blessing :) This area is so different in the lessons and teaching investigators. In Brooklyn Park, at the end of my stay there we were teaching a lot and here we’re running though our investigators fast, but we were still teaching a lot more than this area. 20 is the standard of excellence and is typically always our goal. I don’t think I have hit 20 in this area at all.
Teaching is going well. I remember in the very beginning I wanted to teach but I didn’t really know how to, so I would sit quietly and bare my testimony of the truth of whatever principle Elder Kinikini taught. I am seeing that with Elder Mower. He really wants to teach but hasn’t figured that out yet. I hope he does soon...

We did pick up a new less active we are teaching. I can’t remember her last name but her first is Rozina. She has been though 2 divorces. Right now she is working on finalizing the 2nd one. She is about to turn 70 this up coming week I believe. She was baptized in 1992 and than a few years later was married to the guy she is getting divorced from now. He got heavily into drugs and started dealing and getting in to all that mess and he took her with him. It’s so sad to see how that happens. Anyway, she got away from that and found our number. I don’t know how she did that because she doesn’t have internet and she hasn’t been to church in 15 years or so, but God works in mysterious ways, and how ever it works is just fine with me. It’s amazing to see people change. She and Sister Briggs, just seeing that change slowly but steadily as they come to church and pray and do their best to read… huge changes.
Before I started training I asked some missionaries what their favorite leadership position was in the mission or whether being a regular missionary was the way to go. A few of them said regular missionary, but a lot said training is the best leadership position. I have been pondering that a lot lately. I definitely am learning a lot about training and only putting good things on that 'cd' of Elder Mowers. One of the things I have learned is the greater the opposition the greater the blessing . . . there is an equal and opposite reaction.
I got my shoes figured out. That store I was talking to you about repairs shoes. The guy was able to put a new sole and also a leather lining in my shoe where my foot goes and now my shoes are as good as new :)
A few things are changing this up coming week, we can email longer than one hour now… but we are encouraged to not go much longer than that. I have decided to not open mail except on Mondays. I got a letter this week that pulled my thoughts away from the mission soo I am going to try that and see if that doesn’t help.
In the Nelson family, Bro. Ray Nelson, the dad gave the ok again for baptism. We got to talk about it with the girls (2 daughters). Now we have to get them to church and then we will be set. For some reason working 12 hour shifts and having a new born baby, is sleep depriving and he is sleeping instead of going to church. ha-ha we are trying to figure out some way that the girls can come to church. We’ll try going about it that way..he is protective of his girls. sooo protective and that makes it a little rough, but that’s chill.
This week we are going to the family history center with James Okai (Liberian) Elder Kini baptized him. James wants to figure out who he is and what is going on with his family. He wants to go to the temple for them and that will be fun and a learning experience . . . seeing what the church can do for him.
One thing I thought about was my seminary teachers . . . Sister Christenson for one year, I think it was junior year. sorry if misspelled that. I had a thought about her. How is she doing? How about the other seminary teachers? Bro Monson, Sister oops for got her last name but Erica’s mom . . . and I know how you’re doing mom, so we are good :)
ooo and Sister Bowman, Jason’s mom. We had some eggs with mayo or something to that effect. Can you talk to her and figure out what she puts on them or how she makes her egg sandwiches? Thanks a bunch.
I am going to sign off now. There’s a lot of babies cry and screaming in here today. Well till next week love
