fam
The 4th was fun, just like any holiday.  People out and about with family, grilling and playing games and laughing, making a great time and wanting nothing to do with missionaries. (well, at least he's honest!)  I really think it’s interesting that we are told that holidays are the best time to proselyte ... in reality I see and make people more upset on holidays.  It was our pday but they gave us an hour today to email.  We did go to a parade it was in Eagan and Elder Waller came up for that. We did watch a few fireworks but we had a long zone conference call so we were unable to watch too many. It’s not the same in az. being able to see them fly in the sky and see the whole fire work explode. Here it’s just little bits and pieces of the fire work. Those darn trees block the eye sight pretty good.

The training is going well. As we go though different phases in life same with training just a little quicker. Right now we hit the teenage stage... it’s so funny and then he gets frustrated.  I am laughing and than it’s not good, but just to see him say I know how to do this let me do it.  Then see it not go very well at all... just funny.  We'll talk about whatever it maybe and then something like stop holding my hand and giving me advice I can do this myself.  It's teaching me so much.  Elder Kinikini (well sorry, he's not a missionary any more) Will called.  He said I was nothing like that when he trained me.  I was always asking how to be better, maybe not applying it the best, but asking and being humble . . . everybody is so different.  Defiantly learning that right now, and thank goodness for that.

I'll still wear these shoes until they are completely done. . . I was able to sew a piece of cloth on the back part of the shoes where it’s rubbing though. The heel at the bottom will be fine. I got them in AZ  in a shoe place.  It was $110 a pop.  For the next set of shoes defiantly going with slip ones. Everyone here has you take your shoes off and it’s just not much fun.  The size of these shoes are 10 1/5 D.  Would it be better for me to find somewhere here? I couldn’t use the internet but I could ask a member and find out that way.  What do you think? Dad also got a pair there as well.

Is the white car being saved for when I get home . . . in almost a year... WEIRD!!!

Well my thought would be my favorite . . .  crush the game don’t let the game crush you . . . hahaha. One other one that has really stuck out to me the last little bit is . . . be patient with others that sin differently that you. Missionaries (at least me) are no good with that some times.

A few things this week.  We are working with Sister Kathy Briggs, who is a less active from Utah and hasn’t been to church in 40 years.  She moved in about 3 weeks ago. Her record popped up and so we went over there.  She had searched a ton of anti, has lost her testimony of the church and goes in every corner to disprove the gospel.  However, she knows she needs to change that around and get into the church.  She has no clue why but she knows it has to be done.  We are meeting with her on Wednesdays until she becomes converted again.  Since she has had so much anti lds materiel it may be a little bit more difficult, but all things all possible.

This week there was a move, an investigator (can’t remember his name so we call him bob) that was hopping from Burnsville and Eagan.  The Burnsville missionaries where teaching him.  They were unable to find a moving crew so we headed that up, along with Andy and Emily Nasland, I'll talk about that a little later. I felt impressed that Elder M needed to be at the move and that I needed to go to the appointments we had with Tina and the Nelson fam.  Elder M would be with the Burnsville missionaries and also our ward missionary assistant Bro Nester.  I thought it would be ok. I told him all the things he needed to know and all that and somehow the bum got stuck in Burnsville where Bro Nester wasn’t and . . . well, that was a learning experience to never leave him until he really knows whets going on and in settled in tight.

The move with the Naslands went well.  It was 6 hours of Emily, Andy,  Elder Mower and me loading this little U-Haul that they had gotten for the night.  Noone from the ward showed up till about the very end.  It was Bro. Day our elders quorum president.  We talked for a while and he was so amazed that no one from the ward came.  People are so quick to help a friend, but someone they hardly know, well, don’t count on it.  It’s sad to think that.  I mean really sit back and think about it, we are all brothers and sisters. Shouldn't we be quick to help our brothers and sisters? then why don’t we? That’s one thing I am trying to help Elder M understand.  We have been stopping at every car that’s pulled over to help them.  We leave a few minuets before our appointments so just in case.  One other thing I have learned is it is better to have him figure it out the hard way than to tell him the easy way.  It’s not very much fun to see him suffer and to not know whats going on or how to get out of this mess.   He defiantly learns and it means more to him if I let him learn the difficult way...

well it was a good week lots of learn, learn, learning.  Next week is specialized training on Monday so it won’t be pday but we are busy every other day of the week, if you could still write me on Monday that would be good and I don’t know when we will email . . . it may be on Wednesday mid afternoon but I don’t know for sure
I love you all
