December 26, 2011
Dear fam,
It seems that some missionaries are having a very difficult time switching gears back to missionary work. President sent out an email saying to work today if we are having troubles refocusing. I'm doing fine no home sickness at all... ha-ha just a little upset stomach form all the sweets! It was good to talk to everyone. Growing and changing on the path of righteousness; it’s marvelous to see that within the family and myself. I asked Nana one thing that she wished she would have known before she was baptized. Her answer was" the gospel makes sense after baptism.” I thought about that and the ordinations of the priesthood and temple. We really don’t understand until we have it or it is taken away. It’s good to get that great reminder.

This week was another slow week. Elder Pedersen is having a hard time changing from sick to healthy, so not a lot of missionary work ... the last few weeks have been really slow and it’s really aggravating because time is running out and we have to wait for these little obstacles to get out of the way before they turn into big ones. We stayed inside for 2 days. During those days we got a few more bikes in our garage and we were able to take the 3 bikes that we have and make two great working road bikes. Does anyone need a road bike?  When I get transferred I'll for sure send a bike home if someone doesn’t need it.

Saturday was a great day. In the morning we were able to set up a few appointments :) and teach. We are on track to turning those wheels and jump starting the area. I'll also be glad when the holiday season is over so people are home and they will stop saying "come back after the holidays".

The bishop asked us to teach an excommunicated member. We started to do so. She said the opening prayer and cried and cried.  She understands who she is talking to, the Almighty God, the Father of all creations.  He gave us the breath to utter a simple prayer. It’s beautiful. She will be a joy to teach.

The sister missionaries came with us to all 3 appointments, and basically all day.  We went to bishops home played some games, ate some great food and went caroling with the district, lots of fun. We sang to investigators and roch 5s bishop.  They are doing their best to win his trust.  Sunday church was great 3 investigators :) hopefully it wasn’t just for the sake of being Christmas.  I think you know all about Christmas day.

Yup all is well. Hope you drive safe and don’t worry about texting me any more mom :0 elder Pedersen and I had a great laugh about that this morning ha-ha.
have a great week!

ooo we will start emailing at the family history center and I'll hopefully be able to send pictures in the future.

I love you
elder baker
