January 2, 2012

Dear fam
That’s a bummer that mom is feeling under the weather,  but I’m grateful I got a letter from you both!

Sounds like life is starting to go back to as normal as normal it can get.  I’m excited to get working and being able to teach.  We only had 2 lessons and got zero potential or future investigators ... well it doesn't help Elder Pedersen was sick for a few days and that we had 2 days of full service.  A few weeks ago we gave a member a blessing,  Bro. Chua, they had like a stomach flu going around the house and well he couldn’t bless himself.  After words we asked the traditional  “do you need any help with anything?"  He said yes!  So, we are helping remodel his rental property. That was a lot of fun.  Bro Chua has never really done any work. it seems like I was the coach on that. Thanks dad for teaching me! I was installing a light fixture – of course the circuit was broken ... well until I was messing with the wires!  That was a fun little shot, about put me on my back side. I disconnected the whole house from electricity, no more chances - Bro Chua didn’t want any as well.  =)

Also helped out Bro Dorset.  All the missionaries in Rochester,  10 of us went to help him get wood.  While Bro Dorset was getting the hydraulic splitter,  I was running the chain saw as well as helping with the splitting. Only one other missionary had worked with wood.  I am for sure thankful for the experiences I have had. We did about 4 cords of wood.

Kind of weird we have been around the sisters for 14 days  every day.  This week we have specialized training and interviews.  One question I have for The President,  is why have I been around sisters so much?  Not a bad thing but just wondering. Some missionaries never serve around sisters. Specialized training is Thursday.  On Wednesday we are doing another high school presentation about the church.  That has been proven fun in the past.

Today we are playing dodge ball much like any other pday, but we are turning it in to  a missionary opportunity. Prayer spiritual thought and then the games. I am doing the thought and forgot to put it together until this morning.

Last night was really fun it had snowed and started to melt than froze. Biking with a road bike with wind up to 50mph was wicked. I biffed it pretty good a few times and lucky only have a few little bruises.

Well I love you, hope all is a smooth transition
love
